Terms and conditions
Terms of use for the IziEdu platform
These terms are a software agreement between SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL and the teacher who subscribes to IziEdu. They cover the iziedu.com website, the teacher console, the student register, the student portal and the optional Discord integration. By creating an account or otherwise using the service, the teacher accepts the terms below. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.

1. Who we are
The IziEdu platform is operated by the company identified above. In these terms, “IziEdu”, “we” and “the provider” mean SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL, and “you” and “the teacher” mean the person or legal entity that creates a workspace and subscribes to the software.
The contract is between IziEdu and the teacher only. The teacher’s students and their parents or guardians are not parties to it, and nothing in it gives them rights against IziEdu.
A teacher may be an individual, a sole trader or a company. If you are a natural person acting outside your trade, business, craft or profession, section 14 applies.
2. Scope of the service
IziEdu is software that helps the teacher organise their own teaching activity. The service includes:
- the teacher console: session scheduling, the student register, attendance, credits, feedback, notifications and the status of external connections;
- the student portal: the sessions a student is registered for, available credits and questions about each session, as configured by the teacher;
- the optional Discord integration, where the teacher enables it. Discord is optional: use of the console and of the portal does not depend on it;
- transactional e-mail notifications about sessions, where the e-mail service is configured;
- support for the software at the contact address in section 16.
It is organisational software. IziEdu does not teach the sessions, does not set the syllabus, does not issue diplomas or state-recognised certificates, does not assess students and does not guarantee any exam, admission or other outcome. The teaching, the materials and the results belong to the teacher and their students.
Features marked in the interface as “unavailable” are not part of the service provided in that version and cannot be claimed as a contractual obligation.
3. IziEdu is not a marketplace
IziEdu is a tool for the teacher, and its only commercial contract is with the teacher. IziEdu is not a marketplace and is not a party to the relationship between the teacher and their students or their students’ parents.
In particular, IziEdu:
- does not sell sessions and does not offer sessions for sale, except where section 3.1 applies;
- does not operate a catalogue of teachers, sessions or prices, and does not set or display prices for the sessions the teacher sells;
- does not contract with students or parents for a session the teacher sells, and does not take on any obligation toward them for it;
- does not collect payments from students, does not process student card payments and is not a merchant of record for any student purchase, except where section 3.1 applies;
- does not invoice students and does not refund students, except where section 3.1 applies;
- does not act as the teacher’s agent, reseller or payment intermediary.
Where the teacher is the seller, any amount a student pays for a session goes to the teacher’s own merchant account or is collected by the teacher by their own means. The contract for a session is between the teacher and the student or parent, on the teacher’s own terms. The teacher alone sets the prices, issues the invoices, handles VAT, decides on refunds and applies any cancellation policy. That is the normal case, and section 3.1 states the only exception to it.
3.1 The one exception: sessions IziEdu sells itself
The rule. IziEdu is not a seller of the teacher’s sessions. The teacher is the seller: the teacher sets the price, issues their own invoices and collects the amount for the sessions they sell, as this section describes.
The exception. A teacher may register SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL itself as the seller of record for their students’ sessions. In that case, and for those sessions only, IziEdu is the seller: it invoices them, and the sale of them is governed by the separate terms of sale for sessions sold by IziEdu, which apply in that case only.
The exception is narrow. It is opt-in and it applies per teacher, with that teacher’s consent, to that teacher’s own sessions. It does not make IziEdu a marketplace, it does not put IziEdu in the business of selling sessions generally, and it does not make IziEdu a party to any other teacher’s relationship with their students or their students’ parents. Outside it, every statement in this section applies unchanged.
4. Your account
A teacher account is created at /signup with the teacher’s name, a valid e-mail address and a password of at least 10 characters containing at least one letter and one digit. Creating the account creates a separate workspace with the trial period described in section 6.
The account is personal to the teacher and to the people the teacher authorises in their workspace. The teacher is responsible for activity carried out from the account, for the accuracy of the details entered and for the people they invite. If you create an account for a company or another legal entity, you confirm that you are authorised to act for it.
Account security. Keep your password confidential and tell us immediately at adrian.stratulat@iziedu.com if you suspect that someone else has accessed the account. We never ask for your password by e-mail or telephone.
5. Your responsibilities as the teacher
As the customer, the teacher is responsible for their own activity. In particular:
- Students’ data. Having a lawful basis for processing the personal data of their students, and obtaining the consent of a parent or guardian where the student is a minor.
- The register. The accuracy, completeness and lawfulness of the data entered in the register, and keeping it up to date.
- Prices and invoices. Setting their own prices, issuing their own invoices and handling their own VAT for the sessions they sell.
- Their own students. Their own refund and cancellation policy, their own withdrawal arrangements and compliance with the consumer law that applies toward their students and their students’ parents.
- Discord. Complying with Discord’s terms and policies when the integration is enabled, and deciding who is admitted to the server.
- Content. Holding the rights to the materials, texts and images uploaded to the workspace, and not uploading content that infringes someone else’s rights.
The teacher also agrees to use the service in accordance with section 11 and not to upload sensitive data (for example, about health, religious beliefs or ethnic origin).
6. Trial period
A new teacher account receives 14 days of free trial, counted from the moment the account is created. The trial does not require a card and does not create any payment obligation.
In the current version, access is not blocked when the trial expires, because subscription payment is not yet enabled (section 7). When it is enabled, we will publish the conditions and the price before limiting access, and existing accounts will receive reasonable advance notice.
The trial period is meant for genuine evaluation of the software. Repeated abuse (creating successive accounts to avoid a future limitation, automation, or uploading data that is not yours) may lead to suspension of the account.
7. Fees, VAT and invoicing
IziEdu charges the teacher a subscription fee for the software. The fee is set by IziEdu in RON and is stated excluding VAT. The fee that applies to a teacher’s plan is the amount communicated to the teacher in writing before the subscription begins.
VAT. IziEdu is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on the subscription today. Once VAT registration takes effect, VAT will be added at the applicable rate, and the invoice will show the fee and the VAT separately.
Invoices. Invoices for the subscription are issued by SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL, in accordance with Romanian law, for each amount charged. Payment is made by the method stated on the invoice.
Where the teacher is the seller, the fees for the teacher’s own sessions are set, invoiced and collected by the teacher. They are not IziEdu’s fees, IziEdu does not invoice or collect them, and IziEdu does not refund them (section 3). The one caveat is section 3.1: where the company itself is the seller of record, IziEdu invoices those sessions and the separate terms of sale apply.
We may change the subscription fee. A price change does not affect a period that has already been paid for, and we give at least 30 days’ notice before a new fee applies to an existing subscription.
If an invoice is not paid, we may suspend access under section 12.
8. Student data and data protection
For the teacher’s account and billing data, IziEdu is the controller. For the data of the teacher’s students (names, attendance, credits, feedback and any Discord identity links), the teacher is the controller and IziEdu is the processor, acting only on the teacher’s documented instructions.
IziEdu processes student data to provide and secure the service, does not use it for its own purposes, does not sell it and does not combine it with data belonging to other teachers. A data processing agreement is available and governs that processing; the details required by art. 28 GDPR, the sub-processors and the technical and organisational measures are set out there and in the Privacy Policy.
The teacher is responsible for informing their students and their students’ parents about the processing and for handling their requests. Where a student or a parent exercises a right, the teacher answers it as controller and IziEdu assists the teacher as processor.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We make reasonable efforts to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. There may be interruptions for maintenance, updates, security incidents or problems at our infrastructure providers (Railway, Discord, the e-mail service). Where a planned maintenance window can be announced in advance, we announce it in the platform or by e-mail.
We may change features, add or remove modules and update these terms. Material changes to the service are announced by e-mail or in the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page, and the version is displayed next to it.
10. Intellectual property
IziEdu owns the software, the code, the IziEdu name and brand, the graphical elements and the documentation. The teacher receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the software for their own teaching activity, for as long as the subscription lasts. The teacher does not receive ownership of the software or of the IziEdu brand.
The teacher owns their own content: their teaching materials, their texts and images, their own brand, their prices and the student data they control as controller. The teacher grants IziEdu the right to host, process and display that content only as needed to provide the service.
Work and answers submitted by students remain theirs or their teacher’s, as between them. IziEdu claims no ownership over them and processes them only as instructed by the teacher. Feedback and marking are private and are not published by IziEdu.
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the platform for illegal, fraudulent or deceptive activities;
- access or attempt to access another teacher’s workspace or another organisation’s data, including by guessing passwords or circumventing access controls;
- extract the register, student lists or other data automatically (scraping) without our written consent;
- record or broadcast sessions, materials or other participants’ messages without their consent and the teacher’s consent;
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against participants, in the console, in the portal or on Discord;
- publish other people’s personal data, malware, spam or content that infringes copyright;
- use Discord for sales, recruitment or activities unrelated to the teacher’s sessions, or in breach of Discord’s terms;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the software without a written agreement with IziEdu;
- upload or send sensitive data (health, religious beliefs, etc.).
Breaking these rules may lead to suspension of access, removal from the Discord community and, where appropriate, notification of the authorities.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close access, with or without notice, if: you materially breach these terms or the acceptable-use rules; there is a security risk or a suspicion of fraud; we are required to do so by law; or, once subscription fees are live, an invoice remains unpaid after its due date and a written reminder. We will explain the reason to the extent permitted by law and security.
You may stop using the service at any time. To close the account, write to adrian.stratulat@iziedu.com. On termination we return or delete the data as set out in the data processing agreement and your instructions as controller of the student data. Data that must be kept for invoicing or other legal obligations is retained for the period required by law, and the rest is deleted or anonymised.
The clauses on fees, student data, intellectual property, liability and governing law remain valid after termination.
13. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for:
- the result of an exam, admission or assessment;
- interruptions or losses caused by third-party services (Discord, Railway, the e-mail provider, your internet connection);
- content published by the teacher, students or third parties in the workspace, the portal or on Discord;
- loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings or business opportunity, and indirect or consequential loss.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the subscription fees paid by the teacher in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
This limit does not apply in the case of wilful misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, personal injury or death, and does not restrict any liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, section 14 applies.
14. If you are a consumer
A teacher may be an individual or a sole trader. If the teacher is a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession, the teacher may qualify as a consumer under Romanian law, including Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014.
Nothing in these terms limits the mandatory rights that the law gives to a consumer. If a clause conflicts with a mandatory consumer provision, that provision prevails and the rest of these terms stays in force. A teacher who is a consumer may address the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), at anpc.ro, or the competent court.
This section does not give consumer rights to students or parents, who are not parties to this agreement.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Romanian law. For persons acting in the course of a professional activity, jurisdiction lies with the courts in Botosani.
If the teacher is a consumer, the teacher may bring proceedings before the courts of their domicile, and the mandatory consumer protection rules that apply are not displaced by the choice of Romanian law.
16. Complaints and contact
If something has gone wrong, write to us first at adrian.stratulat@iziedu.com, with the workspace name and, where relevant, the invoice number. We will reply in writing and try to resolve the problem directly.
Correspondence about these terms, about an invoice or about the service is handled by e-mail at that address. The provider’s registered office is Botosani, 50 Calea Nationala, Bldg. B, 2nd Floor, Apt. 14, Romania.
The provider’s full identification details are in the block at the top of the page. For the processing of personal data, see the Privacy Policy.
17. Final provisions
These terms, the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the data processing agreement form the agreement between the teacher and IziEdu. If a clause is declared void, the others remain in force. The fact that we do not exercise a right immediately does not mean we waive it. You may not assign the contract without our written consent; we may assign it to a company in the same group, with notice to you.
For situations beyond our control (force majeure, decisions of the authorities, major infrastructure outages), obligations are suspended for as long as the situation lasts.
