Consumer sale terms
Terms of sale for sessions sold by IziEdu
These terms govern the sale of a session to a student, or to the parent or guardian who pays, when SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL is the seller of record. They are a consumer contract. Section 1 states exactly when they apply. This is not the teacher software agreement: the terms on which a teacher subscribes to IziEdu are in the Terms and conditions.
Version 1.1 · Last updated:
1. Scope: when IziEdu is the seller of record
These terms apply only where SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL is the seller of record for the session you are buying. That is the case where the teacher has registered the company itself as the entity that receives their students’ payments for those sessions, and the order or the document issued for the session names IziEdu as the seller.
In every other case the teacher is the seller. The contract for the session is then between you and the teacher, on the teacher’s own terms, and these terms do not apply. IziEdu provides the software to the teacher, is not a party to that sale, does not collect the payment and does not issue your document. The teacher sets the price, issues the document, decides on refunds and applies their own cancellation and withdrawal arrangements.
IziEdu is therefore not a marketplace, and this document does not make it one: it covers a sale that the company makes itself, as seller, in the case described above.
If you are a teacher looking for the terms on which you subscribe to IziEdu, read the Terms and conditions instead. This document does not govern the software subscription.

2. Who this contract is with
The contract is between you and SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL, the company identified above. In these terms, “IziEdu”, “we” and “the seller” mean that company, and “you” and “the buyer” mean the person who pays: the student, or the parent or guardian of a student who is a minor.
IziEdu is the seller of record for the session. It concludes the sale, collects the amount shown for it and issues the document for it. The price is the one displayed for the date and the participation mode you select, as described in section 4.
The teacher delivers the teaching. The teacher is responsible for the content, the schedule and the way the session is taught. IziEdu is not the teacher: it does not design the syllabus, does not teach the session, does not assess the student and does not issue diplomas or state-recognised certificates, and it does not guarantee an exam, admission or other result.
Two relationships therefore exist. The sale of the session is ours; the software arrangement is between IziEdu and the teacher, on the Terms and conditions. The teacher is not a party to this consumer contract and is not your seller here.
The contract for a session is concluded when the order is confirmed and the payment for it has been completed.
3. Who may pay
The buyer must be one of the following:
- the parent or guardian of a student who is a minor, paying for that student’s session;
- the student themselves, if they are 18 or older and paying for themselves.
At checkout you choose either “I am 18 or older and paying for myself” or “I am a parent or guardian paying for a student”. That choice is a self-declaration. We do not verify your age or your identity at checkout. Paying with a card proves the card, not the age of the buyer and not the relationship with the student.
Where a parent or guardian pays for a student, the teacher records the student’s exact name and the relationship as a pending declaration until the teacher confirms it. That is a declaration, not a verification either.
You confirm that the declaration you make is true. A false declaration is a breach of these terms, and we may suspend the access under section 16 and cancel the affected order. That does not remove any right you have under section 8.
4. Price and payment
Prices are in Romanian lei (RON). They are shown per session and separately for each participation mode, because online and in person are different places in the same session.
The price of a session is the one displayed on the offer page when you select the date and the mode. The quote shown during checkout is an estimate, calculated from your selection at that moment. The amount that binds you is the one in the order summary you confirm before paying. If the estimate and the order summary differ, the order summary prevails, and you can stop before paying.
When you start checkout, the places you selected are held for up to 30 minutes while you pay. If the payment is not completed in that time, the hold expires and the places return to sale. A hold that expires is not a charge and creates no obligation to pay.
Payment is made by the method shown at checkout. When card payment is enabled, the card details are entered with the payment provider named at checkout, not with IziEdu, and IziEdu does not see or store your full card number. We do not state here a date for when card payment becomes available.
5. VAT
Prices are shown without VAT. IziEdu is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged today.
If and when VAT registration takes effect, VAT will be added at the applicable rate, the amount payable will change accordingly, and the document will show the price and the VAT separately. The rate that applies is the one in force at the time of the sale; this document does not fix a percentage and does not state a date for a change.
6. Invoicing
For each amount collected, IziEdu issues the document required by Romanian law, normally an invoice, in the buyer’s name, using the details provided at checkout.
The document is issued by SC IZIEDU EDUCATIONAL SRL, not by the teacher. Where the seller of record is IziEdu, the teacher does not issue the document for that session and does not collect the amount.
If a detail you supplied is wrong, write to us at the contact address in section 20 and we will correct it as the law allows. Invoicing records are kept for the period required by accounting and tax law.
7. Cancelling a session
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the session starts. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the session is due to start, you choose between a refund of the amount paid for that session and a credit towards another session.
Later than 24 hours before the session starts, including after it has started, you receive a credit towards another session instead of a refund. That follows from the place having been reserved and kept for the student.
To cancel, use the cancellation option for the booking in the portal, or write to us at the contact address in section 20. Where you cancel in the portal, the time recorded by the platform counts; where you write to us, the time we receive the message counts. A credit is used towards another session in the way the portal shows for your booking.
This policy is an additional right and does not replace the right of withdrawal. The right of withdrawal in section 8 applies alongside it. Where the two lead to a different result, the provision more favourable to you applies.
8. Right of withdrawal
Because this is a distance contract concluded with a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from it within 14 days from the day the contract is concluded, without giving a reason, under Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014, as amended.
To withdraw, write to us at the contact address in section 20. You do not need a special form, and you do not need to justify the decision. Sending the message before the 14 days expire is enough.
We refund the amount due within 14 days of the withdrawal, by the same method of payment you used, and we do not charge a fee for the refund. Where the law permits us to delay a refund, we tell you the reason.
If you asked us to begin before the 14 days ended and then withdraw, you pay a proportionate amount for the part of the service supplied before you withdrew, and the rest is refunded.
The right of withdrawal does not apply in the cases listed in art. 16, in particular:
- where the service has been fully performed before the withdrawal, and you gave your prior express consent and acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal once the contract was fully performed;
- where digital content is supplied other than on a tangible medium, performance began with your prior express consent, and you acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal.
For a session booked for a specific date, you may withdraw until it begins. If you asked us to begin before the 14 days ended and the session is then fully performed, the first exception above applies; until then, the proportional-payment rule applies.
Where we rely on one of these exceptions, we ask for the consent it requires at the point of sale and record it. Nothing in these terms extends the exceptions beyond what art. 16 provides, and nothing here reduces a right that the law gives you.
9. Your obligations as student or parent
- Accurate details. Give the buyer’s correct name and e-mail address, and the student’s full name exactly as the teacher recorded it. Details that do not match can prevent the place from being confirmed or the invoice from being issued correctly.
- Your own account. The portal account is personal. Keep the password confidential and do not let another person use the account.
- No redistribution of access. Do not forward, publish, record for circulation or resell session links, invitations to the online session, materials or portal access. They are for the student’s own participation.
- Attendance and deadlines. Be present at the start of the session, and cancel within the deadlines in section 7.
- Technical conditions. Use a device, a browser and an internet connection able to run the session, and for an in-person session follow the arrangements communicated by the teacher. We are not responsible for a failure caused solely by your own equipment or connection, without affecting your statutory rights.
- Supervision on Discord. Where a student is a minor and uses the Discord community, a parent or guardian is responsible for supervising that use, as section 10 explains.
- No sensitive data. Do not send health data, data about religious beliefs or ethnic origin, or other sensitive data.
10. Students who are minors
A minor does not enter this contract. Enrolment is arranged by a parent or guardian, and the buyer is the parent or guardian who pays.
Under 16: the student accesses the portal through the parent’s or guardian’s account, and the parent’s or guardian’s consent is recorded at enrolment. We do not open a separate portal account for a student under 16.
For student data, the rules in the Privacy Policy apply. In summary, and consistent with that policy:
- No marketing to children. We do not send commercial offers directly to minors and we do not use their data for profiling.
- Minimisation. We do not ask for a home address, the child’s telephone number, health data or other sensitive data.
- Rights through the teacher. A parent or guardian may ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or objection. For data in the teacher’s register, the request goes to the teacher, who answers as controller; we forward a request that reaches us and assist. For data about the sale itself, the request goes to us.
- Supervision. A parent or guardian decides whether the student uses the Discord community and supervises that use.
If you believe that a child’s data is held without authorisation, contact the teacher first; you can also write to us at the contact address in section 20.
11. Discord
The Discord community is optional. Access to the sessions and to the portal does not depend on it, and choosing not to use Discord does not reduce what you have bought.
Where the community is offered, the teacher decides who is admitted and moderates the server. Discord is a separate service with its own terms and privacy policy; we do not embed Discord widgets in our pages. For a student who is a minor, section 10 and the supervision rule in section 9 apply.
12. Personal data
For the data involved in the sale itself — the buyer’s name and contact details, the order and payment records, and the invoicing data — IziEdu is the controller, consistently with the Privacy Policy, which makes IziEdu the controller of account and billing data.
Data about the student’s participation in the teacher’s sessions is processed as the Privacy Policy describes, and this document does not change the allocation of roles set out there. Where IziEdu itself runs a workspace as the teacher, it holds both roles for that workspace, as the Privacy Policy states.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for behavioural advertising. The Privacy Policy explains the categories, the legal bases, the recipients, the transfers outside the EEA, the retention periods and how to exercise your rights.
13. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the session, the portal or the Discord community for illegal or fraudulent activity;
- access or attempt to access another person’s account, booking or organisation’s data, including by guessing passwords or circumventing access controls;
- extract the portal’s data automatically (scraping) without our written consent;
- record or broadcast a session or other participants’ messages without the consent of the teacher and the other participants;
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against the teacher or other participants, in the session, in the portal or on Discord;
- publish other people’s personal data, malware, spam or content that infringes copyright;
- use the session or the materials for a commercial purpose, or resell or redistribute them;
- send sensitive data (health, religious beliefs, etc.).
Breaking these rules may lead to suspension of access under section 16 and, where appropriate, notification of the authorities.
14. Intellectual property
The teaching materials, the texts and the images used in a session belong to the teacher or to the people who licensed them to the teacher. The software, the code, the IziEdu name and brand, the graphical elements and the documentation belong to IziEdu.
What you buy is the right for the student to take part in the session and to use the materials for their own learning. It is not a transfer of ownership, and it does not allow redistribution, publication or resale.
Work and answers submitted by the student remain theirs or their teacher’s, as between them. IziEdu claims no ownership over them. Feedback and marking are private and are not published by IziEdu.
15. Availability and changes
We make reasonable efforts to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. There may be interruptions for maintenance, updates, security incidents or problems at our infrastructure providers (Railway, Discord, the e-mail service). Where a planned maintenance window can be announced in advance, we announce it in the platform or by e-mail.
A session may not take place because of an event beyond the control of the seller or the teacher. In that case your rights are those in sections 7, 8 and 17, and nothing in this section reduces them.
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by e-mail or in the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page, and the version is displayed next to it. A change does not apply retroactively to a sale that has already been concluded.
16. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close access, with or without notice, if: you materially breach these terms or the acceptable-use rules; there is a security risk or a suspicion of fraud; we are required to do so by law. We will explain the reason to the extent permitted by law and security.
You may stop using the service at any time. To close an account, write to the contact address in section 20.
Suspension or termination does not remove a right you already have for a session that has not been supplied, including a refund or a credit under sections 7 and 8. The clauses on intellectual property, liability and governing law remain valid after termination.
17. Liability
We answer for the sale that we make. If a session sold by IziEdu is not supplied, or is not supplied with reasonable care and skill, you are entitled to the remedies the law gives a consumer, which may include a replacement session, a price reduction or a refund.
We are not liable for:
- the result of an exam, admission or assessment;
- interruptions or losses caused by third-party services (Discord, Railway, the e-mail provider, your internet connection), to the extent the law permits;
- content published by the teacher, the student or third parties in the portal or on Discord;
- indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of business opportunity, to the extent the law permits.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a session is limited to the amount paid for that session. This limit does not apply in the case of death or personal injury, fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and does not restrict any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right that mandatory consumer law gives you. If a clause conflicts with a mandatory consumer provision, that provision prevails and the rest of these terms stays in force.
18. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Romanian law.
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings before the courts of your domicile, and the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live are not displaced by the choice of Romanian law.
19. Complaints, ANPC and ADR
If something has gone wrong, write to us first at the contact address in section 20, with the order reference, the date of the session and, where relevant, the document’s number. We will reply in writing and try to resolve the problem directly.
You may also address the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), at anpc.ro, or the consumer protection authority in the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings before the competent court.
IziEdu does not currently participate in an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedure. That does not affect your right to contact ANPC or to bring proceedings before the competent court, and it does not limit any right the law gives you.
